Good Girl, Bad Blood, the sequel to A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, continues the story of Pippa Fitz-Amobi in Fairview, Connecticut. This book picks up right where the first book leaves off. Pippa just solved the Andie Bell case, released a podcast outlining the details of the case, and the people involved in the murder are being convicted. Pippa has officially retired from her role as detective, but that doesn't stop the madness in this small town from happening.
In the same way Holly Jackson pulls you into A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, she doesn't waste any time with swooping you into another action-packed adventure with Pippa.
At the memorial service on the six-year anniversary of the deaths of Andie Bell and Sal Singh, someone in Fairview goes missing, and the police decide it's not a high risk case to investigate. However, the person missing happens to hit Pippa close to home - one of her best friends, Connor, tells Pippa his brother, Jamie, is missing.
Connor begs Pippa to help find his brother, even though Pippa swears she is done playing detective after a near-death experience last time.
After begging the police to help with no luck and talking with Connor and his mom about the odd details of the days leading up to Jamie's disappearance, Pip decides she can't sit this one out. And this time, she has the followers of her podcast to help her uncover clues and piece together what happened to Jamie the night of the memorial and where he could be now.
As Pippa starts to uncover more secrets in Fairview, she realizes how deep and dark they truly run. There are even people in town who are hiding in plain sight or not who they say they are.
Holly Jackson throws a massive curveball in the last third of this book, revealing new information that completely alters the perception of clues previously uncovered, possible suspects, and where Jamie could be now. I can confidently say you will never guess the ending, and that's why I really enjoyed this book.
Linda, Listen - If you're down for a thriller/mystery where every detail comes together at the end to solve the case, buckle up! Holly Jackson will take you on another wild adventure around Fairview, and keep you on the edge of your seat while you join Pippa uncovering the next mystery. Will she find Jamie Reynolds? Is he alive? Where has he been and with who?
Stay tuned for my review of the third book in the series, As Good as Dead.
